Who is this for?

This guide is for people from outside the EU/EEA who have a job offer in Norway and need a skilled worker permit.

Requirements

  • Job offer from a Norwegian employer
  • Relevant qualifications (degree or vocational training)
  • Salary must meet minimum requirements (equal to or above the industry standard)
  • The job must be full-time (at least 80%)

Processing Times

  • SUA (fast track): Up to 4 months
  • Normal: Up to 6 months
  • Note: Expect longer processing times during summer

How to Apply

  1. Your employer registers the job offer at altinn.no
  2. You apply at udi.no
  3. Pay the application fee
  4. Submit biometrics at your nearest Norwegian embassy

Costs

  • Application fee: 6,300 kr (changes yearly)

After Approval

  • Register with the police within a week of arriving
  • Apply for a D-number or personnummer at Skatteetaten
  • Get a bank account and BankID
